What are the dates for Fall 2010 registration?
Registrations will be accepted at participating sites from Monday, August 23rd - Friday, September 17th.
What are the dates for the Fall 2010 session?
Fall 2010 session will begin the week of September 13th and will run for 12 weeks through the week of December 6th. Our Winter 5K event will be Saturday, December 11th at UNC-Asheville. We will not have sessions the week of Thanksgiving break at participating schools. For the full Fall 2010 calendar, click here.
How can I sign my child up?
Registration for Fall 2010 session will open Monday, August 23rd. There are two ways to register.
1. Call the location with which your child will participating (locations listed here). Ask if you can come by and pick up a registration form. Please return ALL registration forms to the site your child will be running with.
2. Download the registration form here (will be available 8/23)- Drop it off at the location your child will be participating with. Please do not send forms to the GOTR office. For a Spanish Registration form, click here.
My daughter's school is not a participating site, how can we start a program? We encourage you to speak with your school principal about starting a Girls on the Run or Girls on Track program at your school. Please review our 'Setting Up a Site' document to learn more about how to get started. You will also need to complete a NEW Site Application form here.
What if my child does not attend one of the participating schools and we cannot start a program, but I want her to be in Girls on the Run or Girls on Track?
We encourage her participation at any of our available sites, however, principals at participating schools have the right to refuse participation for any un-enrolled or enrolled student. Please contact the school directly and and Site Liaison will let you know if it is possible for your child to participate.
Are scholarships available for girls to participate?
We do not offer scholarships at this time, but we have set up a sliding scale fee structure for individual participation based on family income:
Over $50,000 $125
$30,000-$49,999 $95 $20,000-29,999 $65
Under $19,999 $30
Some sites find local sponsors to suppliment the cost of the program fees, if a participant cannot meet the minimum fee. Please contact your site directly for more information of whether additional sponsorships are available.
